What

I think this is a reference to the 2008 scandal wherein massive numbers of deceased people were put onto voting lists in Florida and California (and some other states), and were somehow voting from beyond the grave.

But we all know that GOP supporters are brain-dead zombies, so it was actually perfectly plausible.

I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

Uh, minus the indefinite detention thing, those are all valid points.

Really, I'm a racist because I don't like Obama is valid? I don't understand politics? Killing bin Laden, bringing an end to a decade long useless war, took out Gaddafi in another imperialist war and replaced him with the NTC, made up of Islamist fundies, pro-business/privatisation Western-educated businessmen or simply ex-Gaddafi people. These are all valid points to support Obama? Also, Obama created the Super-Congress, so much for democracy.

I don't remember if this was already here, but just in case:

No matter what happens, no matter what my last words may end up being, I want everyone to claim that they were:

I will accept “They kill birds” as a valid argument against wind power, though.

I will accept “They kill birds” as a valid argument against wind power, though.

Still less damaging than oil spills or coal mine accidents. Even if a windmill breaks down it is less damage to nature/people than if a different type of power plant critically damaged.

Also some people don't like the way windmills look and say that it spoils the natural beauty of the landscape. Not as badly as smoke belching coalplant though.

All things considered I support nuclear, water, wind and solar power but only if the safety precautions (and a safe location) are well thought out.

Indeed.

Yeah. Those people are just being stupid. Personally, I find wind turbines to have a certain beauty of their own.

The thing that gets me about nuclear is that the waste products it does produce can last too damn long. I just don’t feel it is responsible to push of responsibility for dealing with something onto generations so far removed that we aren’t even sure how to best communicate the importance of that responsibility.

What do I win for a Bingo, or even the whole card, because they have all been thrown at me, though it is missing one thing: Obama supporters calling you a Paultard or even a tinfoil hatter.

Really, I'm a racist because I don't like Obama is valid? I don't understand politics?

Oops, missed those.

The first two are valid reasons. What would be the alternative? Letting bin Laden go is stupid, and the opposite of ending a useless war is letting it continue. The other candidates were all for staying in Iraq and Afghanistan indefinitely and starting a new war with Iran. How is that not a valid reason to support him? The third is also valid because, unlike Iraq where we invaded a peaceful nation under false pretenses instead of going after the person we were there for in the first place, the people there actually rose up first and needed our help. And Gaddafi was killed by them, not us. We helped, but they actually needed our help, so it's OK.

Also, Obama created the Super-Congress, so much for democracy.

The what now?

Basically the Supercongress was when 3 law makers from each party got to decide most of the budget

While that's a good point, the other side of that is, to my understanding, the present inability of wind, solar, and hydroelectric power to handle the needs of the entire United States, much less the entire world. The technologies should be further developed, and there may come a day when it is feasible to use them to produce the majority of power, but right now they're not workable on the necessary scale while coal and nuclear are.
