I've never been a fan of Spongebob, but that may be because Spongebob creeps me out a bit.

I'm probably going to get flamed for this, but Spongebob really gets on my nerves. The first three seasons were good, but now the show is crap. And the fact that Nickelodeon airs hours of it every week only makes matters worse.

It isn't just your nerves - Spongebob has really gone down the toilet.

Which, if you hated the show before, will just make you hate it even more.

Rusty used to be a big fan of Spongebob, but now he can only shake his head at it :-/

Spongebob is still going? Bloody hell, I remember watching that show when my age was still in the single digits. Quite frankly, it would be amazing if the quality hadn't taken a big fuckoff nosedive.

I only ever watched Spongebob for the off-the-wall disturbing shit, anyway.  Given how long its been on, not at all surprised by its decline.

Guys, this is getting creepy. Can we talk about cannibalism instead?

My god.

God damn it. I can't escape Honey Boo Boo. I keep trying to forget that family exists, but the internet won't let me.

I feel that they are. Part of the problem is the way they're presented. The "Mystery with a Twistery" episode got a pre-episode marathon and advertisement out the wazoo, the episode itself was a half hour long with half of the episode consisting of antics with a train. And let's not forget that Patrick used to be stupid in a funny way (your mileage may vary) but now he's stupid in a very obnoxious way.

I was a big Spongebob fan when it first came out. I stopped watching somewhere around 2003. The show's been on for 14 years now (Jesus fuck), so of course the quality is going to suffer.

The Simpsons went through the same thing, except they weren't strong right out of the gate. It took a season or two to get good, then the good run lasted like 8 or 9 years.

When would you say the show went to hell? I have enjoyed it up until at least Season 10. Seasons 11-15 did have some good episodes in my opinion. Now it's just mediocre at best. Definitely showing it's age. I still like to collect the box sets though.

Seasons 1-10 (1989-1999) are the only seasons worth watching.

I never saw the Simpsons Movie, so I couldn't tell you how good that is.

I personally enjoyed the movie, there were some enjoyable scenes. If you hate the post-Season 10 episodes though then you may dislike it. I can't really say for certain.

I don't even know who that person is, but just the name irritates the hell outta me.  Mostly because, when I was growing up in the 'hood, "boo boo" was a slang term kids used when they said they needed to do #2.  Therefore, to me, the name translates roughly to "Honey Shit."
