And with the next elections less than two months away, too. Something tells me this ain't gonna end well for Bibi.

As long as they don't bring in a frothing at the mouth old coot with a war fetish, I have good feelings about this considering most likely this will sour the taste of Likud's politicians in the public's mouths.

Hah. The religious fundies and nationalist right didn't fit in the same coalition since the nationalists demanded removal of the conscription exemption for the ultra-Orthodox Jews. The leftists also gave Bibi the finger when he made a desperate attempt at building a coalition with them. As a result the Parliament voted to dissolve itself which triggers new elections in September.
This is seen as a sign that Bibi's political opponents both in the left and the right see him as vulnerable and are trying to undermine him. Now the corruption charges have a chance to catch him and cause him to be ineligible for the new elections.

Bibi was hoping to rush in, build a quick coalition and then pass a bill making the Prime Minister of Israel immune to prosecution, but this whole business with the military exception blew up that plan...

Avigdor Lieberman: Oh, did our demand that we definitely made because of our dedication to equality cause new elections? I'm so sorry about this unexpected turn of events. To make things right, if Bibi falls I promise to take the burden of leadership for myself.

It really is the best thing to happen.
Ironbite-cause letting Netanyahu get away with it would've set a terrible precedent that'd lead to a massive amount of Middle Easterners dead.

Netanyahu's a warmonger, but somehow I can't see any of his prospective replacements being much better.

His replacement on the right is Starscream. Avigdor literally cannot help himself but shout "NETANYAHU HAS FALLEN!" whenever he thinks the very slightest opening exists.
I don't know enough about Israeli politics to know what his Center and Left opponents are like.
