I actually am kinda dreading the theatrical release date, because inevitably there will be at least one story of some weird shit going down in a cinema.

The only problem with that being true is that Spike was hatched when Twilight was just a little filly so, uh... she would have to have some serious retcons for that to happen

I actually am kinda dreading the theatrical release date, because inevitably there will be at least one story of some weird shit going down in a cinema.

Oh look an excuse to post this, anyway, some guy who decided to have fun with the drama surrounding the movie over on the cracked article:

If I had any intention of seeing this in theaters, I would minimize the discomfort of my fellow moviegoers by brilliantly disguising myself in authentic little girl garb. I'm thinking a sundress; curly blonde wig; maybe I'd drag a doll around to complete the effect. This would be complemented by a three-day growth of stubble, and a smoldering stogie.

"Yeah, gimme one for the pony movie, or whatever," I'd say to the ticket clerk in a smoke-rasped Brooklyn accent, "'cause, y'know, I love rainbows and shit."

"Hey! Who Framed Roger Rabbit already did that gag, sort of!" someone would cry out.

And I would flee, utterly defeated.

If anything weirder than that actually happens it'll probably qualify as a crime against humanity.

Twilight's dad had a fling with a dragon, maybe before he married her mother, maybe after, and the dragon left the egg on his doorstep. Since there were no dragons around to hatch it, it layed dormant until Twilight's test. So Spike is really Twilight's half brother!

It would explain why Twilight was the one chosen to open it (there's no indication that any other students had the same test), why she seems to be the only pony in Equestria with a live-in assistant, why Spike is much more pony-like than other dragons (no wings, for one), and why Twi's family refuses to acknowledge him as kin.

What? Don't look at me like that. It's totally plausible.
