Makes me wonder about the military budget cuts, that could work both ways.
The U.S. accounts for 41% of all world military spending. Even if we cut that in half, we still be close to spending three times as much as the next biggest spender. If the U.S. Government decided to turn its military on its own people, the only prayer we would have are the people in the military refusing the orders.
BINGO. That, or having a significant chunk of the military go turncoat. Depending on the reason behind using our forces on our own people...that may be a strong possibility. Of course, we'd still have to contend with the most technologically advanced military the world's ever seen that's capable of fighting a 24/7 war on land, sea, and air. We'd need backup. A LOT of god damned backup.
