Also there is evidence that it is better for the kids to be at home longer rather than being sent to kindergarten as soon as possible. Some people consider that the well being of their children is more valuable than money.
No matter what happens, no matter what my last words may end up being, I want everyone to claim that they were:

Aww, you guys rock. :)  I feel the love... and the pitchforks and torches.  Tingly!

Cataclysm, there are quite a few stay-at-home Dad blogs out there. And they are not about sleeping in late, watching porn, and letting the kids clean the house and raise themselves. That rant you posted has a very strong reek of moldy fedora.

The average cost of Daycare is $11,666. The salary a full time minimum wage worker makes is $15,080 a year. Even if someone works minimum wage they still have enough money to cover daycare,. And even if it was the same cost, then they would still be making a net positive after the child goes to school for the next 13 years.

There is a lot of  shit you said that I could easily tear apart, but let's just examine this little part since only it seems to be about money for you.

Here is the reality of your full time job: you have doctors appointments, sick kids, PD days, extended vacation days that non-government employees don't get, and two months of fucking summer vacation that require require somebody take time off from work because daycare doesn't cover them. Let's round it to about 50 working days, or say 1/7 of your theoretical full time paycheck. That $15080 goes to $12925. This means that your net profit amounts to $1259.

How does the spouse get to work? Usually that requires a vehicle. That vehicle will need annual registration, insurance, maintenance, and fuel. This assumes you have already paid for the vehicle and aren't making lease payments on top of that, and if that is the case you still have to think about the eventual replacement costs. So now that $1259 annual net income is reduced to somewhere between fuck-all and negative fuck-all.

Now, I don't know about your particular tax laws, but my write downs and tax credits for having a child and a stay at home wife work out to a hell of a lot more than the optimistic vehicle-less profit of $1259, and in fact probably work out to more than $3080 figure you come up with if you conveniently ignore all the costs involved.

In summation, she is costing you money by staying home with the kids: bullshit.

I thought he had to joking when he first posted that thing. I can't believe this argument is seriously going on.

This is Lexi, dude.  I remind you that this is a kid who thought keeping himself from going into puberty (or further into it, I forget which) was a good idea.  Motherfucker's got a skull so thick it could be considered battleship plating.

When and where was this? How do you even go about doing such a thing, and why?
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.

Seconded. I would love to see a F&B thread explaining the details here.

Hormone blockers, which are used for just that purpose on transgender children (and then followed up with testosterone for FTMs or estrogen for MTFs).

(I'm not approving of whatever Lexi said, just giving an example of how it can be done, along with actual legitimate reasons for why someone would do it)

It was amongst his first posts on the old Proboards forum, when he was known as Lexikon.  If memory serves, he basically wanted to use hormone blockers to stop his voice from becoming deeper, body hair from growing, and other such things oft associated with the advancement of puberty.  Basically everyone told him that was a critically fucked up idea unless he was transgender (which I don't believe he is) and his posts on that topic, from then on, were basically "BUT, LEG HAAAAAAAAIIIIIIIIRRRRRRRR!," only with his trademark overly pompous, quasi-intellectual tone.

Holy fuck I've never seen Cataclysm go this far up his own ass.

Odd you find this worse than sterilizing prisoners. But then again you stated it would be best if people were unable to have children until they were willing and able, which might have been subtle agreement.
I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

Just because I argued for a better biological system for reproduction doesn't even come close to you arguing that stay at home parents have it easy my boy.

So he stunted his own growth?  Well, that explains a lot.

I don't think he ever went thru with it, likely because its hella expensive.  But, yeah other than that, he's fairly well stunted.  Its funny, considering his sig-quote, and likely "person he looks up to," is Vene, otherwise known as an intelligent, if abrasive, person that made posts of appreciable quality and wasn't an obtuse knobend.
