Okay, but seriously could we stop acting like all these cases of police abuse are just the because of poverty or mental illness or something? We tried just focusing poverty and shit for a while, but all that amounted to very little with the southern strategy and Ronnie's War on drugs.

Hell, for a while during reconstruction blacks almost had a shot at achieving social progress, and it was FUBARed thanks to a combination of vigilantes, law enforcement, and Jim Crow.

Poverty, while not the only reason the situation has reached a boiling point, is a pretty big symptom of the problem black America faces.

I know that, what I'm saying is that it's useless to focus on poverty if you don't fix institutionalize racism first.

I think they should just go with the name "Staffordshire Terrier" or "Staffordshire Bulldog" or simply a "Staffordshire". "Pit Bull" is just nasty sounding and refers to their history as dog-fighting dogs.

While they do have an innate excitable temper & ludicrously huge jaw strength, it's still awful how they're looked upon as four-legged abominations from Inferno. With a lot of love & good care, they're just another lovable, loyal, intelligent, cute dog.

Pete from the Our Gang/Little Rascals & Buster Brown's pooch sidekick, Tige, were Staffordshires....nobody saw them as the pooch equivalent of 1954 Godzilla!

Actually, Staffies and Pits are different breeds and the bite strength Pits have is actually less than German Shepherds and Rottweilers.
