So, youtube made a small update, changing the way the site loads one video to another. Now, when you watch a video and then click another one either from a playlist or the suggested sidebar, it does this weird thing where it fades slightly to white and a thin red loading bar appears at the top of the screen. The problem? This somehow completely negates the Magic Actions 'stop autoplay' function, so now videos autoplay.
I sent an email to Magic Actions telling them about the problem, and all I got was an email giving out the same generic advice you'd get on an FAQ, telling me to 'make sure there isn't interference from another extension' and 'try emptying your cache.' I know this won't work, because it wasn't something that happened over night. This update happened while I was watching videos, hence why I caught it immediately. Not only that, but I'm pretty sure my cache was emptied a couple days ago when I had to manually shut down my computer; I have all my sites set to automatically log in and stay logged in, and when I turned my computer back on, I was logged out of everything, which, to my knowledge, only happens when my cache is cleaned. I also know it can't be that, because if I'm on a non-video page (like a user page) and click a video, it loads normally and it won't autoplay. This only happens when I go from video to video.
The only other thing I can think of that may have initiated the update is when I tried logging into youtube due to aforementioned logout, it did the stupid "change your user name" thing again, except now they give you the option of changing your username to something other than your real name. Since I had my username for a long time, I decided to go for something new.
tldr; youtube updated, my 'stop autoplay' function stopped working, I told the makers of the extension I use about it and was basically ignored
Seriously, who thought autoplay was a good idea?
