And the Confederates were hardly innocent of war crimes themselves.  Camp Sumter, the Battle of Fort Pillow, the Lawrence Massacre, Champ Ferguson's atrocities...

Never once did I try to claim that they weren't, UP. I acknowledged that the confederates were in the wrong in the war, and now acknowledge that disregarding the general cause of the war they did some pretty terrible and fucked-up things. I'm dropping the subject now.

Not to mention their own mass looting, which was far worse than the Union's, if less common. They enslaved every black person they came across, even people who'd be free all their lives!
