Here's some things Cait sent me that I wanted her to post here but she said no to.

And now a couple that aren't cartoons but worth being posted:

From what I learned in history class, you never pray to the Greek gods on an individual level. Doing so would be asking for trouble. You instead pray for the well being of the city.

Wait was the covenant originally a group with divine deal as well?

Quote from: Jordan Duram
It doesn't concern you, Sister, that kind of absolutist view of the universe? Right and wrong determined solely by a single all-knowing, all powerful being whose judgment cannot be questioned and in whose name the most horrendous acts can be sanctioned without appeal?

Quote from: Supreme Court of Canada
Being required by someone else’s religious beliefs to behave contrary to one’s sexual identity is degrading and disrespectful.

Feel free to fall for propaganda by a creationist. I won't.
Since Creationism has nothing to do with the subject at hand, what is your point?

My point is that you probably shouldn't trust the words of a creationist. Especially one biased in this particular matter.

Poisoning the well, logical fallacy.

Agni: If that particular cartoon is wrong, then address the actual cartoon. Say why it's wrong. Talking about the author's other views just makes it look like you're resorting to ad hominem because you have no argument.

Well, the cartoon is wrong in assuming that Nuns aren't oppressed as well

Then you should have just said that in the first place. Besides, if nuns are oppressed, it still stands there are people out there who don't believe they are but believe that Muslim women are oppressed, or gloss over nuns, showing their hypocrisy. It's not that hard to understand.
I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

lol, his sign reads "MERRY XMAS" when he looks like the guy who gets pissed off when people "Take the 'Christ' out of 'Christmas'." And yes, I understand, the artist ran out of space.

That's a highly religious message, but understandable as well. I've heard stories like this when I was in catholic school. But it's a good message, essentially trying to say you have to take care of the least of us.
The material needs a defender more than the spiritual. If there is a higher power, it can defend itself from the material. Thus denotes 'higher power'.

"Not to know is bad. Not to want to know is worse. Not to hope is unthinkable. Not to care is unforgivable." -Nigerian Saying
