I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

Dear political cartoonists: Not every object in the image needs to be labeled. This comic would have worked just as well with about half of the text.

And it works just fine with the text.

But not necessarily as well. The text adds a lot of clutter.

But then, I suppose the artist may be attempting to reach some of those audiences that need everything explained to them. In that case, it only does work with the labels.

The “Trillions in Bailouts/Tax Avoidance” labels are most definitely not necessary, especially in light of the other labels

On the other hand, I've seen a ton of political cartoons (in this very thread) that pretty much need labels because people are unrecognizable, or the imagery is so vague that only hipsters get it.

Or perhaps there's people out there that just aren't aware of every political event happening at once, like me.  Because I'm too cheap to pay for a subscription to a newsletter.

To be honest, I didn't even really notice the Triilions in Bailouts/Tax Avoidance too much.  I mean, I saw them, I read them, but they didn't catch my eye or anything.
