Prototype printer "eats" its way down a stack of paper

Since printers still seem to really annoy people even today, this fella, Mugi Yamamoto, designed this as a university diploma project. I hope this goes somewhere, as printers could really use a major overhaul.

The only overhaul I need is my printer not refusing to print in black & white because it has no magenta ink left.
Still can't think of a signature a year later.

The thread linked to confuses me, I don't understand their problems. Like, the fact that someone might knock over the stack of paper makes the invention bad? Try not being an irresponsible moron. Just orient your workspace so that the shit is stable. And just because there are some holes to work out, the whole idea is a waste of time? Also, paper trays may protect from dirt if you have them enclosed, but how many home printers do that? I've never had one like that.
