Save Your Children From Teddy Ruxpin
« on: June 29, 2013, 09:08:53 pm »
Hello, friends. As you may know, There is a talking teddy bear called Teddy Ruxpin. What you didn't know is....HE'S POSSESSED BY THE DEVIL. The proof is as follows:
-The Bible tells us Satan is like a lion. Lions and bears are both mammals.
-His eyes look sorta red in photographs. As we all know, Red eyes means the devil!
-By inserting some devil magicked charm known as a tape, he talks!
The evidence is clear:Evil Satanists have created this toy to corrupt our children and turn them away from God!

Oh no...it's worse than we thought...
Fundie Doublethink:
* The Bible is the inerrant, literal word of God when it talks about the Earth being created in six days and homosexuality being an abomination. The Bible is a flawed work interpreted by errant humans when it talks about loving your neighbor, turning the other cheek, and the evils of greed.
*  All life is sacred and precious from the moment of conception until the moment of birth.
* You're not a sexist.  You just think women are nothing but baby machines and servants.

Thankfully I was a teen when Teddy Ruxpin was popular, but my baby brother was scared to death of that bear.  He refused to go to bed if that bear was in his room.  Of course, being the older brother, I found some creative and ingenious ways to hide that bear around in his room.  Poor guy, even as an adult now, he hates teddy bears.  I think Teddy Ruxpin and I left him with some emotional trauma for life.

Ah, good memories.  Teddy Ruxpin, Care Bears, Gummi Bears, Rupert...

... come to think of it, a lot of the cartoons I watched had bears for protagonists.  Huh.

Guys, this is getting creepy. Can we talk about cannibalism instead?

I am so glad my childhood and formative years were before the internet... or else I'd be even more screwed up than I am now from rule 34 alone.

Although I remember them more from books, don't forget the Bernstein Bears!

I used to have like, a ton of Berenstein Bears books, and a couple of the cartoons.
From international relations to religious rivalries, from marriage to athlete's foot, whatever the problem a fundy's first solution is usually violence.

I really have to ask because i cant tell if this is serious or not.

How would seeing some basic rule 34 of a childrens show screw you up, i really never understood this concept (including the whole "ermahgerd the innocence of my show is ruined" bullcrap)

If its actually true, holy fuck i have wrecked so many things for god knows how many since i discovered rule 34 when i was like....6...and msn...and emails...im a bad person.

What I said was mostly just an exaggeration for effect.  I don't really consider anyone post internet/rule34 to be any more messed-up than I am.    In other words, while I wouldn't really want to see it, it doesn't scar me for life, and probably wouldn't if I was a kid.
