Homefront (video game)

I have read the reviews not very good.  Was wondering if anyone here has it...Is it worth it?  Does the multiplayer make up for the fact that the single player game ends abruptly (according to nearly all reviews)?

The multiplayer is better than call of duty's but other than that, I can't say much about it. I've been busy with other games to really explore Homefront deeply.

I haven't played it, but it caught my attention too. From what I understand, the most intriguing element of the game, a foreign conquest of the United States (it's set in, I think, a mountain town in Colorado) is hampered by an implausible set-up (really? Korea conquering half the world?) and poor story telling. I know it's an FPS, but a game like this needs to be story-driven, playing on the principal market's facing of something that is basically unthinkable. It sounds like the game fails to live up to its potential. The 72 on Metacritic isn't a total pan, but the evidence that I can see suggests that this is a $5 game.

To be fair, they did predict Kim Jong Il's passing within a certain amount of time.

Yeah, but he was pushing 70. It's hardly impressive to accurately guess that someone will live approximately the median lifespan.

It's a little impressive to almost properly guess the year. :(

Anyways, as weird as the plot may be, I'd at least rent the thing. But then again, I'm a huge sucker for alternate histories.

Surely the story is more plausible than MW3 or BF3? At least in Homefront the US has been weakened by wars and a recession, while NK has benefited from its rivals weakening; much more plausible than Russia invading the east coast of America.
