Star Cluster has it right on.  Conspiracy theories that extend over centuries and involve countless thousands stretch the bounds of possibility.  A secret will remain a secret until the person you told it to meets another person.  And you have to question the efficacy of a conspiracy that everyone, including the paper boy's dog, knows about.

This is priceless.  Hell, I'd spray water from the water hose when I was a kid just to see the rainbow effect.  That was 50 years ago and I knew then what caused it.

Damn.  Just, damn.

As to conspiracy theories, I'm fascinated by the ones that are large, elaborate, and have been going on for years. such as the Kennedy assassination.  The more people involved, the better.  As hard as it is to get 3 or 4 people to keep a secret for more than a few days, how do you get a large group of them to do it for decades or longer?

What sometimes amazes me is that all the Kennedy conspiracy theories focus on a domestic culprit. Has anyone wondered if maybe Lee Harvey Oswald was working for Fidel Castro? I find the idea of a foreign culprit more plausible.

I'm not the only person who made the Silence/Slenderman connection then... I know everyone's terrified of the Weeping Angels but I'm more scared by the Silence, simply because something like that could conceivably exist, and we'd never know, because as soon as you look away, you forget... anyways, tangents!
