So if SOPA somehow passes, does this mean we could create original content and make it really popular, and then shut down news sites when they start reporting on said Internet sensation, via court order?  I'm thinking of things like the shit Murdoch owns, in particular.  Or post copyrighted content on his site and use that as a basis to shut down the entire site?

If SOPA passes I do believe RaptureReady could start copyrighting their "brand", if it's not already, and knock FTSTD out for linking their copyright. It's a very screwed up bill.
Matthew 22:39 "And the second is like unto it, Thou shalt love thy neighbour as thyself." God's own "don't be a dick" rule.

Lithp and Vene really need to have some kind of confusing sexual encounter where Vene spends the entire session lovingly insulting Lithp's technique, then cums on his face, ruffles his hair, says, "You're all right, kid!", and then punches him in the nuts.

The comments were slightly facepalm worthy.

But still, good to see someone finally actually looked out the window.

RIAA and MPAA are already complaining.

So far, three co-signer of the bill has dropped it.
That may be the single gayest thing I have ever read on this board. Or the old one. ;)

As far as I know they haven't explicitly "revoked" their ability to copyright.  Regardless, I want to say that them doing that would be "pulling a Hovind."

Then again, if SOPA would pass, I think a lot of people would get an "If I go down, I'm taking you with me!"  mentality towards a lot of sites that they don't like, especially if these sites are owned by SOPA supporters.

Final Fantasy Wiki has put up ads regarding SOPA/PIPA on their Main Page.

I'm a bit disappointed in Fanfiction.net. I've seen no mention of SOPA on their site outside of the forums and they would be one of the first ones to be yanked. (To be fair, I've got adblocker engaged. But that would still be stupid if they made their anti-SOPA statement something that could be overlooked by using adblocker.)

It seems YouTube also didn't put up any notices, not even ads like FFWiki did. Youtube would've been a prime target for SOPA if it passes, too.
