Yes, it is a harmful sexual preference.Because it leads to a culture of fear and stigma, wherein people who are at risk of contracting HIV avoid getting tested, because they feel they’re better not knowing their status because, if they know!, they’ll need to disclose and, as this horrible fucking thread proves, most people are more than happy to scoff at the very notion of having sex with an HIV+ person.Put yourself into an HIV+ person’s shoes. What would this thread tell you, especially if you were newly-infected?That you are unfuckable. That you are unloveable. That you are going to be rejected for the rest of your life. As long as you use protection there is statistically almost nothing to fear. If the HIV positive partner is taking the appropriate modern medication the change of infection is around 1 in 14 000 even if no condom is used in heterosexual vaginal intercourse if I recall correctly. (I checked this statistic back when my friend told me that he had found HIV medication in his then GF's bathroom.)
