100 Riffs (A brief history of Rock N' Roll)

In one take, this guy plays 100 riffs from 100 different famous classic rock and heavy metal bands in a row.  Long video but an awesome one, and the guy strings the riffs together in such an awesome way that they flow right into the next one.

This was one of those videos where you know Johnny B. Goode, Crazy Train, Smoke on the water, Jessica, Sweet home, and Don't fear the Reaper would be in it. Though I was waiting the whole time to hear Sweet Child and it took a minute to get there. I mean, that's like the most famous riff ever and you know its something when it can be recognized by the first two-three notes. Though now, I realize it may be due to the various riffs being in historical order, so I feel a tad silly for not realizing it sooner when the title is "A brief History or Rock N' Roll."  ;D

Again, very good video, definitely one that I could just throw on repeat and listen to for a while. I honestly don't know how he could remember 100 riffs so easily when I have to think about things to practice beforehand. Finally, I definitely enjoyed hearing Cliffs of Dover, its one of my favorite things to listen to, just sounds so mellow. Eric Johnson is so underrated as a musician its a bit sad. Not to mention I've been trying to get the tempo on Cliffs down for years, but alas I'm not that good yet.

I know almost all of these songs. :D

It was pretty cool seeing how much rock has branched out and evolved over the years.  The first few songs sounded really similar, then you start hearing a lot more variety in the 60's.  Next thing you know, there's early metal, prog-rock, 80's glam, grunge...  Mmm!

Since my post was eaten, I'll reiterate.

Great video, talented guy, and I'm incredibly thankful that he included Cliffs of Dover. QoH is right about Eric Johnson being underrated.
