It is legal in the USA to have Fennec's as pets (according to Wikipedia anyway) though it probably varies from state to state.

Six week old, Superkitten had a pectus excavatum surgery a few weeks ago! His deformity is pretty extreme and he was starting to show significant clinical signs. His heart was being displaced and his respiratory rate was increased. One of our vets placed a sternal splint to reshape his little rib cage. The surgery was successful!(http://i.imgur.com/ZyZCQ.jpg)

Also, I've heard of at least one university experimenting with having a "puppy room" for stressed students.When I was in the hospital for diabetes, I got a visit from a black lab therapy dog, they work quite well. I don't see why you really need to experiment. They are going to work. I was in a great mood and he managed to lift my spirits even higher.
I'd love to have a therapy dog and take him to see patients. It'd be so rewarding.

When I was born, my father's Weimaraner had just whelped a litter of 8 pups. I wouldn't put it past him to have put them in my crib for a nap, either. That momma dog apparently thought I was the only pup left to her after her litter was adopted/sold off. She was my main companion as a child, always at my side.

My buddy and I were clearing a right of way for the electric lines and came across this fawn trapped in the fall path of the tree we were about to trim. He was tangled in some thorns and was pretty shaken up after we cut him loose, so we started rubbing his belly to calm him down.... which worked a little too well, as you can see.
He followed us around the job site like a lost puppy for about an hour until I noticed a doe watching us from the hillside. Assuming this was his mother, I carried him about halfway up the hill while she watched attentively. I sat him down, he ran straight to her, and they walked off together.

Oh no. The bugs back in the Coal Swamp times were even bigger. Think millipedes almost twice as long as your height, eagle-sized dragonflies, and dog-sized roaches. This guy's tiny in comparison.
Also, I agree with Sirius on this. I had an encounter with a centipede slightly larger than that once, and I definitely wouldn't call it "cute." Yikes.
I've always wondered how the square-cube law allows monstrosities like this and its ancestors to exist while keeping the same proportions as the tiny ones.
