What I take issue to is fuckwipes whining "I'm entitled to my opinion, free speech" as if somehow their free speech and their right to have an opinion is being challenged by people who disagree with them or think negatively of them. Assholes, it doesn't work that way.

Well, they are both sapient and a different species. Maybe negative generalizations about sea lions are entirely factual in this universe.

(I am not fond of the sea lion comic either, I know what the artist was getting at and it's like half of a valid point but he doesn't do a good job of depicting it)

Of course not.  But while the sea lion is definitely at fault, that's no excuse for the humans to reinforce their bigotry.

I think we are dealing with an incident where contact with horrible examples of a certain group intensify the dislike towards that group. Like if Westboro Baptist Church was holding protests against me every week in front of my house it would make me hate them even more.

best guess? eighties fashion, since the sixties' and seventies' look has faded from the mainstream these last few years. they were popular up 'til 2010. now, not so much.
