Title: Can anyone here read Chinese?
Post by: Katsuro on March 04, 2016, 11:45:59 am
This doesn't really need its own thread but it didn't fit in any existing thread so I didn't really know where to put it.

Just wanted to ask if anyone could tell me what these say:

I asked my girlfriend, who has this to say:

Quote
I can make out 風__者 which is a person who does something with wind.

The painting is probably of this guy: https://zh.m.wikipedia.org/zh/公之 (https://zh.m.wikipedia.org/zh/公之)
(Painted in?) December of 1015
And below that is __bookroom
So perhaps the last part is like 'ex libris' for paintings in China
I know it was common practice for people who bought paintings to stamp them with a seal of their name
It reads: 公之•一0一五年十二月__室書作

Ah so it's probably the name of the guy who painted it?  It was painted by a guy at a Chinese New Year event thing (celebration isn't really the right word) I was at back in February.
