I think living in a 3rd world country has desensitized me to stuff like this. Muti killings are quite common and basically involves using anything of anything and anyone. Organs, babies, children, organs from specific types of people, animal parts (normally from rare and exotic pets) all mixed together. Then there are the ones who make their stuff out of household products like drain cleaner. You sadly get used to hearing about the grisly details.
As far as Asian traditional medicine goes, its one of the leading causes of rhino extinction in Africa. Their belief that ingesting rhino horn cures impotence has led to a huge increase in hunting. The worst thing is, is that stuff like this in Asia is not even treated as morally reprehensible, its all out in the open. Its pretty depressing.
