Had my first "true" con experience at Holiday Matsuri today. I've been to a con before (Orlando Anime Day), but I wasn't in costume and had no clue what I was doing and didn't know anybody. Today, Kelly and I went as reindeer with Christmas light necklaces and those crowbar-shaped door hangers with the jingle bells on them.



We're going tomorrow and Sunday as well. She's doing Christmas Sherlock tomorrow, but both days I'm going as Badass Reindeer: the same costume with an eyepatch, cigar, and MP5K on a shoulder rig.

I bought the Hyrule Historia book today. I hadn't intended on making any purchases aside from a new pack of socks, but in my browsing I found one in an aisle it didn't belong in and I just had to buy it.

It's a stunningly beautiful book. This is the kind of thing I went absolutely nuts for when I was a kid. The kind of thing that made me want to draw and stare at art all day, and inspired me deeply.

If any of you know a young person who is artistic and are wondering what to get them for Christmas, I really recommend Hyrule Historia. If they're anything like I was/am, their brains and hearts will explode with joy.

I got a small bonus for doing extra work this year. I was not expecting anything too so it made me really happy. Getting paid for promoting social justice is awesome.

- Got my (signed) Digger omnibus with goodies. :) I ordered it wayyy back in June- it was worth the wait!

- Pomeranian got his staples out (botched neuter- they didn't see he had huge inguinal canals and he herniated a week after and ended up having 3 inches of bowel removed. Good thing the emergency vet does payment plans or we'd be screwed financially. Emergency vet said it's a real mystery how he didn't herniate earlier in life, because he 'should' have.).

- Little sister coming back for Christmas.

- Had lasagna for dinner.
