Some NFL douche beat his wife unconscious, the NFL claims to be shocked by this, although it's pretty likley they knew beforehand.
I'm not really suprised, American football is horribly corrupt.

His name's Ray Rice.

His name's Ray Rice.
Thanks, I don't know (or care) very much about football.

Now, what is it that happened and prompted you to start a topic?
How do you feel about this situation?
What do you wish to discuss in this topic?
I think it is actually in forum rules that you can't just start a topic with a link and nothing else.

As far as I know, it is.
And why is this in "Politics" and not "Entertainment" or "Society?"
-
Okay, I felt like this was important enough to have a topic on, and I'm bad at writing descriptions.
Could a mod move this to Society?

And also to cut UP off at the pass from posting this topic 2 weeks from now.
AS TO THE TOPIC AT HAND, took Goodel enough fucking time to do this. They've known about this for months now and have done nothing. In the meantime, a few guys got high on marijuana, suspended 6 games or so. The story that came out of this was the NFL doesn't give a shit about if you beat your wife into a coma but if you toke, you're a criminal. So, Ravens cut him and the NFL gives him a lifetime ban. CFL is also gonna honor that so the only football he'll play is in Europe. What gets me is this is something that should've happened months ago. Not after Week 1 was said and done. Well except for Monday Night Football.
Ironbite-just irksome.

In an act of transparency (or finding someone to blame, whichever way you may look at this), the NFL has asked Robert Mueller III (http://www.usatoday.com/story/sports/nfl/2014/09/10/ray-rice-domestic-violence-investigation-roger-goodell-robert-mueller/15428019/), the former head of the FBI, to investigate why the NFL had the tape of Ray Rice's attack since April, but Roger Goodell wasn't aware of it until now.
Regardless of what the former agent finds, someone's head is going to roll for this.
-
One hopes it's Goodell's.

I would really like to see the NFL revamp their rules and regulations about when players commit crimes, get indicted, convicted, and sentenced.
For example, if I got indicted and convicted of assault and battery, I would lose my job. To be drafted into the NFL is something that doesn't come easy, and it shouldn't be taken for granted either. There shouldn't be this level of protection for the players because they perform well on the field. Players should be informed and reminded that like with any job, if you screw up and commit a crime, you can and will be replaced.

The same should go for coaches.

Somewhat unsurprisingly, Rush Limbaugh views the suspension of Rice as the "chickification" of the NFL by "feminists." Because only feminists would react to a wife beater with disgust.

Petition to have Rush Limbaugh and the Amazing Atheist fight to the death.

I would bet my money on Limbaugh in that fight.

As would I.
Ironbite-man's got reach.
