In the related thread we agreed, on the first page I think, that it was pointless to discuss for those reasons in the picture. Of course for it came back up in a broader sense of proper storage of a gun in a safe or at least with a lock on it, so that children wouldn't have access to it. Not really applicable to a supposed adult though. Supposed because the fuckwit acted like an entitled little brat.

My point was actually that everyone (save the people who automatically jump to the defense of their guns at every shooting) can agree that, for once, gun rights isn't the issue at hand here considering the 137 page manifesto that shows that the issue is purely a feminist one.

Its applying the "better safe than sorry" adage to roughly half the human population.  Its basically saying "stay away from ALL men, because SOME of them are arseholes."

Really?  That's not the message I got.  Then again, I'm biased against pics that use shitty analogies instead of just saying what they mean.  "Women avoid men they don't know because some dudes are arseholes" is NOT a complicated message, it doesn't need simplification.  You don't need a Classic Trek-style dumbing-down of a message if the message is so incredibly simple, a four year-old could understand it.

If you absolutely have to make it into some kind of metaphor, then a better one would've been "You avoid strange animals because they might be dangerous.  Now, you know how women feel about strange men."

Okay, snark aside, 1 in 3 woman will experience some form of domestic abuse, and 1 in 6 will be subjected to sexual assault or potential sexual assault. 
So yeah, while only a small minority of men are rapists and abusers women still absurdly likely to be assaulted. So no, a woman would not be unjust in being concerned when she's around men.
