I may have a girlfriend now, and I asked her out with the best line ever.
So she came to my dorm's coffee bar tonight. I said hi, and we got to talking. She's the girl I mentioned a few weeks back who I sort of asked out to dinner. She asked why I did that, and I fumbled my answer.
Me: Well, I really like you- Um, I'd really like to get to know you better.
Her: Was that first thing what you meant to say?
Me: No, but I think it's what I meant to mean.
She gave me her number. I'm glowing with joy.
Awesome, brother! Best advice I can give, and this is gonna sound
really corny, is to just be you. Don't try to put up a false front, because brother, lemme tell ya, it is far, far better to be disliked for who you are than to be loved for something you're not. If that works out well, you'll know...once you get past the initial awkward "oh my god, I have a girlfriend" phase, you should find that talking to her and bein around 'er is as natural as breathing.
How do I know? That's exactly how it is with me and my lady. More'n 18 months on, and we can still sit around talking for hours on end. We can even enjoy bein with one another without speaking a single word.
Just, keep this in mind, always: actions will always speak louder than words.
