Big Mac was the best part of the episode. And I'm not just saying that because he's my favorite non-mane 6 character. Or maybe I am.

Am I the only one annoyed that virtually the only dialog he had was "yup" and "nope"
Not me. There were two meta-jokes about it, which IMO not only makes it okay, but in a way even better than if he had a lot of dialog. Plus, his eeyups and nnopes had more emotion and subtext than ever before.

So   Pinkie sad she was Applebloom's "fourth cousin twice removed by a fifth cousin."  This either means that Pinkie misspoke, or that the name she thought she saw was one of her fifth cousins.

...you know what?  I'm trying to incorporate that into my little line of thinking up there, and I'm just getting confused. I think it means they still count as distant cousins but it makes them even more distantly so.  Goddammit.  I don't know if I can take Pinkie Pie's offhand remark seriously.  It just makes things too complicated.

It's Pinkie Pie, for whose sake the laws of physics fuck right off. I don't suggest taking anything she says that seriously. Besides, Pinkie is frequently more childish and naive than the rest of the mane six, so she might have misunderstood what the (proposed) connection was.

Say, am I the only one who thinks the dragons should get there culture more fleshed out (as well as zebra's,gryphons, ect)?

You said something positive should happen to dragons so my answer is automatically "I agree, that should be the case."

Yeah, right there with you.  Dragon Quest was a travesty and there needed to direly be more.  Also, have you SEEN my avatar? Gryphon Kingdoms, especially after seeing Gilda WAY back in S1 NEEDS to happen.
Now THAT would be awesome. I would sell my left ovary for a dragon/griffin culture episode, and it's definitely feasible. They've touched on the idea of exploring other species' cultures (Over A Barrel) and on the idea of characters/elements from previous seasons in new episodes (Luna, the Crystal Empire). Now we wait.
Slight tangent, but another thing I'd love to reappear is the Equestria Rodeo that was a plot point in The Last Roundup. At the very least, it would give Applejack a shot at more character development and it's a good counterpart for the Crystal Empire in terms of former-oneshot-ness.

...I keep forgetting you have ovaries.  I've gotten so used to "Shane is a man" that I sometimes forget the "transgender" part.

But yes.  I want to see more about those other races on MLP.
... I'm William. Shane is Commander Shepard. *eyebrow raise*

I blame your avatar looking juuuust enough like Shane's photos to be confusing at 100x100 scale.  Even though I'm pretty sure Shane doesn't smoke.

I think those meta-jokes made it worse. Like they went out of their way to keep his dialogue short.
I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

I have the shared headcanon among my friends that Big Mac generally DOESN'T need to say more than that.  Think about it, the ONLY time *in the show* we've seen him go off has been Ponyville Confidential.  Doesn't mean he hasn't taken anypony to task off-screen.

Big Mac communicated just as much with his "Eeeyup"s and his "Nnnope"s as anyone did with full lines of dialogue.  He's always been a pony of few words, and I think having him launch into full dialogue has to be used very sparingly, like Ponyville Confidential did.

In as far as the joke made at the end of the episode, I did say "Dammit Grannie Smith!", but you know what?  I laughed while saying it.  It was funny.

It takes a good writer and a good actor to make a character say a lot with just one or two words.

... well, Luna's Teats.  So that teaser image was legit.  Huh.

And to think the bronies were raging over Weird Al pony looking like a douche.

I've only seen the image for what I assume is Weird Al pony.  I think he kinda looks like Clint Eastwood in his "Old West" hay-day. *rimshot*

Wait until he ditches the hat and coat.  It's so Weird Al.

I enjoyed today's episode quite a bit, and not just for that special cameo. :)

Apparently the Ask Princess Molestia blog got shut down.

Indeed it has.  Of course this has just set off a firestorm.  While I don't approve of every blog supporters response to this, I have to say that I find the blogs detractors infinitely more annoying, IMO.  Seriously, the gloating is annoying as shit.

I imagine if some people didn't start losing their minds and saying really hate-able shit towards the tumblrite who started the fake controversy, this whole thing would've died out as soon as it begun.

What don't you believe about it anyway?

The claim that the Molestia blog trivialized rape. didn't find a single instance of it on the blog.
