Title: Mitt Romney: "You ask the questions you want, I give the answers I want."

Quote
Yesterday during Piers Morgan Tonight, Governor Chris Christie said that one of the biggest misconceptions about Mitt Romney is that he is frigid, and that he instead possesses “enormous compassion.” He gave an articulate and straightforward response to his candidate’s shortcomings. Tonight, Romney had to answer that question about himself, and began to talk about the budget and other such things for so long that John King had to hop in and remind him that he was asked what the biggest misconception of him was. For this insolence, Romney struck him down: “You ask the questions you want; I give the answers I want.”

It could be worse, it could be like that time Michelle Bachmann went on CNN and was asked questions about homosexuality (because her book discusses it) and stormed out because she didn't want to have to talk about it.

She also said that Piers Morgan sexually harrassed her by asking those questions about her book, if I remember correctly. Or was it Christine O'Donnell?

So King lobs you a softball: "Mr. Romney, here's a chance to address something you think the media has unfairly portrayed you as... Go!"

And since it's not on your talking points, you tell him to shove it. Niiiiiiiiice.  ::)

My science professor once said, "You ask a republican a question and he'll give you five different answers."

Way to totally disprove the idea that you're an out-of-touch, entitled rich boy who can't back up his record, Romney.

Okay, Rom-man, but don’t be surprised when people think you are an asshole for not answering the damn question. If you don’t want to answer it, just say, “I don’t want to answer that. Next question, please?”

Actually, I think I understand where Romney is coming from. He's under pressure from a lot of people who think that he's too wishy-washy, having held more liberal views in the past, but claiming now to be a conservative. His healthcare policies have been linked to the one used by President Obama, and the conservatives hate Obama Care(tm). Recently, Romney lost his front-runner status again, and he probably thinks the best way to do that is show some ballsack at some point.

So he picked some question and decided to power-play the hell out of it, so the news would have a soundbyte/clip showing him being a badass. For conservative Republicans, it just might be effective, as a display of power and strength is what they appear to admire in a candidate.

Am I saying it makes me like him? Hell no. But it might work out to his favor anyway.

Yeah, they do like their assholes that refuse to answer the question.

Sadly.
