John McAfee, the guy behind the antivirus software, is wanted as a "person of interest" in the murder of fellow American Gregory Faull, his neighbor in Belize, who was found dead of a gunshot wound to the head.
McAfee has previously had conflicts with Faull, and has had previous run-ins with the Belize police over guns (most of which were found to be licensed) and suspicions of running a crystal meth lab. Police say that he's not wanted for murder, simply wanted for questioning as a "person of interest." However, McAfee alleges that the government of Belize has framed him, and is planning to kill him.
SourceIt'll be interesting to see how this turns out. It sounds like he's pretty obviously paranoid, at the very least, even if he's not actually guilty. But then, I don't know much about the Belize government. Maybe someone here can comment on that?
But one thing's for sure: Somehow, this all works into the machinations of Peter Norton.
