I've had this idea about making a story about a highly dysfunctional family. I was thinking of calling it 'Queen of Hearts' or 'Queen of Spades', since the the main character is a working mom of three messed up kids trying to make her delusional father proud and living with her overly optimistic say-at-home husband and his mother.
Anyhow I'm not sure if they should be called the Hearts or the Spades. I originally wanted to call them the Hearts since that is a positive image for a very negative family, although the "Queen of Spades" also has significance and would work as a title as well, and Spade is a more common surname. Queen of Hearts also has more significance, although I don't know if that is an advantage.
Let me know if you're interested in knowing more about the characters or story.

I say Spades, since it'd be less confusing to potential readers.

I think "hearts" would be a little cliche, also it's an awkward last name. Usually its "heart" instead of "hearts".

I agree that Spades is better. More subtle, and more fitting overall.

If you wanna be really clever, make it "Hart."
