Ten bucks says it was originally one of those crappy AUs where the author was like "I want to change every detail that makes this story what it is so I can write down my creepy, unrealistic fantasy, but I'm too lazy to flesh out my own characters".

That's progress, I guess.I'd be happier if the book had not apparently spawned a bastardization of BDSM. I've been hearing disturbing shit about Doms not using safe words or deciding that using the safe word is something to be punished. It was disturbing enough for a big ol' PSA to be sent around on the importance of safe words and what you should do if a Dom says either 1) no safe words at all or 2) the use of them is grounds for punishment.

I'd rather read a Doctor Who/Dukes of Hazzard crossover.
Are you kidding? I'd read that in a flash! That sounds awesome!
“Ana,” he smiles his dazzling toothy all-Hispanic-American smile, and I can’t be angry with him anymore.
That may be the single gayest thing I have ever read on this board. Or the old one.
GEEZ... Someone needs to MST that entire book... then maybe I'll read it. :p
The logical response to getting that tingle in his dingle is turning into an asshat, of course.
Religion is regarded by the common man as true, by the wise man as false, and by the powerful man as useful
Yeah, if the pagans are so smart, why did Jesus invade Pagan-land on the back of a dragon and kill them all!
No matter what happens, no matter what my last words may end up being, I want everyone to claim that they were: "If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."
Aww, you guys rock. I feel the love... and the pitchforks and torches. Tingly!
Hunnam, 33, said the upcoming adaptation of EL James' bestselling "mommy porn" literary sensation, in which he will star as kinky billionaire Christian opposite Dakota Johnson's blushing virgin Ana, would be a walk in the park when compared to shoots for Channel 4 drama Queer as Folk 14 years ago."You know what, I had such a baptism of fire with regards to sexuality on camera at the beginning of my career," Hunnam told the Associated Press while promoting the season premiere of US TV series Sons of Anarchy. "I starred in the British Channel Four miniseries Queer as Folk, where I played a young, gay character, and there were some incredible, explicit sex scenes on that show. ... Now I am 16 years older and more mature so I don't anticipate them being too much of a problem. It's like anything else, just an exciting challenge."
Please don't compare Queer as Folk with 50 Shades :S
