since this isn't a tv show, i'm wondering if we can get this kind of thread going, if it's already somewhere, delete this thread, anyway, i've got a massive respect-boner for hank green and his team.

When I first read the title I was quite tired and thought this was about smart youtube comments and I thought there wouldn't be much content available for the thread.

depending on which videos you read the comments you might be in for a surprise. for instance, scishow's (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCZYTClx2T1of7BRZ86-8fow) and skallagrim's (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UC3WIohkLkH4GFoMrrWVZZFA) commenters regularly have above average discussions, except for the occasionnal trolls, but that's to be expected, seeing as one regularly defies bigoted points of view and the other knocks katana-weeaboos. same deal with scholagladiatoria (https://www.youtube.com/channel/UCt14YOvYhd5FCGCwcjhrOdA), where history buffs meet mall ninjas.

What non-euclidian world have you come from? I refuse to believe such inane claims as "polite youtube" could exist anywhere in this plane of existence.

if only i had the answer to that, i'd buy you a friggin' planar teleportation ticket. but it gives me hope for humanity when youtube commenters are civil to one another.

If you're a gamer and a gun nut, the videos of Ahoy can be quite good.

You've all probably seen this already, but it's a neat series:

It presents a lot of good information and a decent amount of maths all neatly filtered through the lens of geocentrism being BOLLOCKS.
A thoroughly enjoyable watch.

This is a documentary series about the first world war and every episode concentrates on a single week in the war:

This channel concentrates on rare guns:

Oh hey look at that, another person who's heard of Lindybeige. I wish he did more vids listing inaccuracies and nonsense in movies and TV shows set in medieval/ancient times. Still waiting for part 2 of this one:

One thing I really like about this series is that it doesn't strawman. It lets both sides present good arguments, and allows the viewers to draw their own conclusions.

That doesn't sound like a good check against misinformation. Does it do an extra investigative effort to challenge "the side" that is not well-supported or supported at all?
