About 100 soldiers in Washington state are being restricted to their base following reports that hundreds of sensitive items, including night-vision goggles and rifle scopes, were stolen from a supply area, The Seattle Times reports.
As of Sunday, the soldiers in the 100-member infantry company at Joint Base Lewis-McChord were not allowed to leave their barracks and dining areas without an escort, says I Corps spokesman Maj. Chris Ophardt, the newspaper reports.
The company went on lockdown Wednesday.
I call Bullshit on this:
"It's not something the average Joe can attach to their gun and become instant Rambo," he says, according to The Times.

I don't think they were all involved. But obviously a few were out to make a buck. Or there were some pretty brazen crooks out there on the other side of the fence, one or the other.
On the bright side, at least it was just crap that the public already has access to instead of some type of military grade heavy weapons
