Started Deus Ex and man the game is ugly even by 2000 standards

I'd forgotten about the running and screaming part of the tranq darts myself.

Or the crossbow that shoots gigantic bolts right into your face and do nothing but knock you unconscious harmlessly.

I'd like to also point out that just a year later, they released a game that looked like this. On a console that the Deus Ex port had to be dumbed down for.

Also Banjo Tooie was just as long so I dunno my guess they put too much effort into story and gameplay

Anyone watch the Playstation 4 announcement thing last night?  Wasn't too bad over all but I think I will be skipping this generation of consoles and sticking to my PC.  Though the biggest take away from last night is Diablo 3 is getting ported to the PS3 and PS4 and well that sent the PC Diablo 3 fanboys into a nuclear meltdown of rage.  see here -

My question is, why bother with a console port in the first place? I think there are around 10 people in the world who don't hate it.

I hated Banjo Tooie for the amount of backtracking it involved, you constantly had to be going in between worlds to achieve a single jiggy compared to the first game where you only to go back to a world once (Defeat the polar bear with the running shoes that you get in the next world).

Oh, and since nobody mentioned the PS4 yet

I was waiting for any news on the Vita, instead I got a console I won't even bother with.

I actually liked that bit of metroid vania but it was only in Tooie not so much Kazooie

I think we were both referring to Deus Ex (the gameplay and story is amazing but the aesthetic is a tad lacking).

part of the issue is Deus Ex's graphics can hurt gameplay IE I had no idea if a floor was metal or not

Yeah, that got annoying reeeeal fast, to me. That and you could be in a level for an hour and still have just one jiggy. I got sick of the levels.
