You see, the Cascades serve many purposes. In addition to (mostly) splitting up the Democrats and Republicans, they also serve to keep our local football rivalry from getting too intense. Everybody east of the Cascades is a Cougar. Everybody west is a Husky. Now, which half is in favor of gay marriage?

There were talks in Maryland last year. They kind of stalled. They were supposed to be bringing that issue out later on this year, but methinks since this is an election year, they may get put off for another season. I guess we'll see. Frankly, I wouldn't mind if my state was part would revisit it. Maybe I could do more than letter writing this time.

Sorry to sour news, but NOM has pledge to put 250K into fighting equality. If they can get 120,577 signature before June 6, that means there will be no marriages and a referendum will be put into vote during the November ballots.

It seems Washington has now approved same sex marriage. Now we'll just have to wait until NOM has their hissy fit and we'll see how things settle.
