Nuts! I thought this was going to be about conservatives.
I am an old man, and I've seen many problems, most of which never happened.

Someone really needs to draw a picture of a human with a giant mushroom erupting from his or her abdomen. Actually, drawing the human versions of any of these parasites would make for great horror fodder.

Squick aside, parasitic lifeforms are fascinating. Nature is badass, yo.

You might enjoy the Instruction for a Help series.  Inspired by cordyceps, if memory serves.

Are some of those parasitoids, not parasites? Parasites keep their host alive.
I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

And a darling little creepypasta about another human cordyceps:

Congratulations.  You found Ronald Reagan. He’s living in each and every one of you.  Just waiting to gnaw his way out of your chest and skitter off into the ventilation ducts.

Actually an episode of Syfy's Face Off did one that had to do with parasites. It was interesting what the make up artists came up with.

I remember hearing about a parasite that was very much like the Flood from Halo. The good news is that it only affects insects, and it hasn't developed a grave hive mind. At least for now...
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.
