At first I thought this cartoon was stupid, because it generalized frat boys and played into stereotypes.  Then I realized that was probably the point.  It's meant to show that judging people by a few bad apples is ridiculous and unjust.

"Politician" is the occupational equivalent of "Florida".

I could easily be misinterpreting it. I'm going on 28 hours without slerep.

Not a fan of this one. It's being deliberately noncommittal.

Also, good luck teasing a multipost complete thought out of UP as to what he did get from it.
Consumption is not a politically combative act — refraining from consumption even less so.

The way I see it... The cartoonist believes that all Muslims are evil and that the "lone terrorist" thingy is just PC bullshit to cover the fact that every single individual Muslim should be considered an enemy. Then the FBI would like to protect USA from these enemies but Apple (and the traitorous justice system) is stopping them and only the supreme court could order them to let FBI spy on people (more than they already do) but without Scalia the only way to fulfill this plan is to stop Obama from picking a judge (and apparently he also needs to be stopped from releasing the prisoners in Guantanamo bay.)

Note that the only time a Muslim isn't shown to be an evil terrorist in the comic is the panel with the refugees BUT the next to panels show ISIS recruiter and a Muslim who has entered USA and is a terrorist. The kindest conclusion from this is that every refugee should be considered a potential terrorist and the only way to prevent such terrorist from entering among the innocent refugees is to spy on their phones (which Apple is trying to stop from happening.)
No matter what happens, no matter what my last words may end up being, I want everyone to claim that they were:
"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."
Aww, you guys rock. :)  I feel the love... and the pitchforks and torches.  Tingly!

Ah, good, it wasn't just sleep-deprivation that read that into it for me then.

I didn't see it like that.  The Gitmo prisoner isn't really portrayed in a negative light, and Apples privacy concerns are represented by the Statue of Liberty.

It clearly isn't a "best political cartoon," then, if we can't even read it.

Did you even look at the comic? The GITMO prisoner has the same "crazy eyes" as the lone gunman few panels later and he is grimacing.

Maybe he's just angry at being locked up without charge or trial.
