Not sure that is why I do xmas.  I call it xmas mostly because of Futurama.  I also celebrate by sealing my fireplace to prevent Santa from killing me
I celebrate it by dressing as Santa and trying to kill kefkaownsall. This year Imma shove coal so far up your stocking you'll be coughing up diamonds.

I think that was on here before.

I think you're right.

I will say the lower panel looks like a typical scene from around this area, minus the adoption part. To be honest, that's only about half way down the scale of how bad parents around here can be.  One guy told me a story of how his parents had their friends house sit while they went on vacation, and they set the house on fire in a meth lab accident.
History is full of maniacs, my friend, men and women of intelect, highly perceptive individuals, who's brilliant minds know neither restraint nor taboo. Such notions are the devils we must slay for the edification of pony-kind. Even if said edification means violating the rules of decency, society, and rightousness itself.

I had to look at this one for quite a while to see why the nice couple at the top was rejected.

I think it's a sad aspect of society, that homosexuals are some of the nicest people on the face of the planet, yet they're outcasts of society because they defy the stereotype of love - which is considered, according to holier-than-thou pundits "between a man and a woman." Also sad, is that most of the time - while there are some homosexual couples who don't get along either - the whole "man and a woman" thing is a bunch of fairy-tale bullshit, which is expressed in the second panel with the approved couple. Also note the crucifix in the "androgynous" boy's room, and his father preparing to beat the holy shit out of him because he "looks gay," a poor child who would have been raised with love and respect and most certainly accepted by the rejected couple.

Do you have any evidence to support the proposition that gays are nicer than straights? I would have assumed no difference.

It sounded more like a generalization. He's not saying they're nicer than straights, but that there are a lot of friendly gay people, so it's weird that they're treated like outcasts.

Ugh, there was a bit about this on Woman's Hour on Radio 4 in the UK the other day. Asking whether women were being sexist by wolf whistling Daniel Craig when he was in those little shorts in Casino Royale.

Apparently no, because when men wolf whistle it's because they're secretly rapists. Whereas when women wolf whistle it's because they're doing it for higher, more romantic reasons.

Bollocks! Some of my female friends are more sexually base than any man I've ever known!

I agree with this one - so much that I did a law school paper on it. (My prof thinks I should try to publish it - which I'd love to do - but when I graduated, I lost access to the easy way to contact law journals.)

The thing about the double standard is that its two ways. There's plenty of ones for men and women that favor each way.
The material needs a defender more than the spiritual. If there is a higher power, it can defend itself from the material. Thus denotes 'higher power'.
