If its based off of actual numbers and properly-made statistical models, then it'd be scientific by proxy.  Statistics is as much a science as it is a form of math.  However, if one's economic policy is based off of bullshit, then it is, by proxy, also bullshit.

Most non-dishonest economists - Krugrman, Delong, Pikkety, Stiglitz - agree with Ironchew, UP. So definitely the arrogant dismissal of alternate views is a good idea.

I'm going to create a thread.

The party's name is the Democratic Party. It has been since 1830. Please spell correctly.

"The party must go wholly one way or wholly the other. It cannot face in both directions at the same time."

No matter what happens, no matter what my last words may end up being, I want everyone to claim that they were:
"If you strike me down, I shall become more powerful than you could possibly imagine."
Aww, you guys rock. :)  I feel the love... and the pitchforks and torches.  Tingly!

In fairness, you could write something very similar about Anthony Kennedy.
Quote from: Jordan Duram
It doesn't concern you, Sister, that kind of absolutist view of the universe? Right and wrong determined solely by a single all-knowing, all powerful being whose judgment cannot be questioned and in whose name the most horrendous acts can be sanctioned without appeal?

Quote from: Supreme Court of Canada
Being required by someone else’s religious beliefs to behave contrary to one’s sexual identity is degrading and disrespectful.

I would love a sequel in which Same-Sex marriage is passed and the Ghost of Lady Liberty punches Scalia so hard that he ends up in a coma!

I hate stories with "karma houdinis".

Is there a way to write the artist? I would love a sequel where that happens.

"Dear Ruben. I demand a sequel where Scalia gets punched by Lady Liberty".

...or at least Justice Ginsburg....or Ginsburg, Sotomayor & Kagan in the form of a spoof of "Charlie's Angels".

Quote
I am certainly not an advocate for frequent and untried changes in laws and constitutions. I think moderate imperfections had better be borne with; because, when once known, we accomodate ourselves to them and find practical means of correcting their ill effects. But I know also that laws and institutions must go hand in hand with the progress of the human mind. As that becomes more developed, more enlightened, as new discoveries are made, new truths disclosed and manners and opinions change with the change of circumstances, institutions must advance also and keep pace with the times.

–Thomas Jefferson to Samuel Kercheval, 1816. ME 15:40

TL;DR Jefferson thinks Scalia's full of shit.

A man lecturing women on good and bad feminism is incredibly patronizing.

Just super saiyan.
Consumption is not a politically combative act — refraining from consumption even less so.

Pretty sure the author is a guy*. Also UP brought it up to lecture feminists.

The author is in fact a guy. This guy:

The implications of that fact on his opinions on feminism are left as an exercise for the reader.
