Anything Good Happen Today?

1) My orchid, which hasn't bloomed in close to two years, has budding flowers and a new flower spike.
2) For once, nobody complained that I made something vegetarian* on my cooking night.
3) Met with the spin club. Got to try out a spinning wheel (was terrible at it) and a Turkish drop spindle (was okay at it, think I might actually get one later).
4) Passed Chemistry.
5) Found my missing coffee cup.
6) Finished the scarf I'm making for mom

I'm not in camp vegetarian by any means... but the only way anyone eats vegetables other than potatoes or corn in this house is if I make a meal containing them. It's not like we can't afford fresh or frozen produce, they're just too fucking lazy to operate a stove if the food item isn't a meat or starch.

Ah, memories. I was lucky enough to pull that off one generation later. Caught a shiny Duskull in Ruby. Of course, I've never seen another since.

Finally got enough money together to upgrade my rather aged laptop. Took advantage of the boxing day sales and got a rather nice deal on an HP Pavillion G7. Let me tell you, the 16GB of RAM and 3GB of video memory will be nothing short of a freaking godsend. Not only that, but I've got $50 of Steam credit that's gone very far thanks to the sale. Nothing against retro and indie games by any means, but after four years of hardware imposed retro-and-indie exclusivity, you get just a wee bit sick of it in the end.

Very odd, I just caught a shiny Oddish on the 26th. Horde encounter?

But I've caught other shinies in the game: Wurmple in Ruby and Lillipup a month or so ago in White 2. All other shinies I got were from RNG abuse or breeding in Gen 2 (breeding anything with a shiny ditto in gen 2 gives you a 1/64 chance of getting a shiny of that pokemon).
