Apparently in the book series Dexter was based on, it got even cornier at times. IIRC there was a plot point about how Dexter Morgan's "dark passenger" was actually the son of Moloch. As in the creature that people sacrificed babies to. And that it possessed him and was actually an entity forcing him to do those things. Then the author scrapped it, and retconned it to be that it was simply a scapegoat Dexter came up with to excuse himself of his actions.

We had a "better" one somewhere. Anyone still got a copy of that comic with the black guy graduating college giving a speech that was not but the word "Sheeeiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiiit" stretched out really long?
