2. In regards to the classy 9/11 reference, it's warrentless wire tapping. God forbid you have to have a good reason to tap someone's phone.

Blah, blah, blah… liberty… Blah, blah, blah… Security… Blah, blah… Deserve/Will Have Neither.

I’m getting sick of having to tell people that.

Just to note the elephant in the room: terrorism isn't a particularly serious concern for the US government.

I'll grant you that elections, power and money (possibly also sex) are the biggest concerns your average politician has, I don't think it's fair to suggest they don't care about terrorism. That said, I worry more about the apathy of the people at large, now that they've heard W and the GOP beat the drumbeat of terrorism and 9/11 for the past decade.

I think that there is an argument to say that they mostly only care about terrorism to the extent that playing on other folks fear of it can help them get those elections, power, and money.

Internships can be a way to get your foot in the door as a risk-free method.  They don't have to pay to train you, and at the same time, they get to see your work ethic.

Nowadays, you don't even seem to get an interview if they don't like how you cross your t's and dot your i's, so leaving an impression is valuable nowadays.

Risk: Actually having to pay someone.
Training: Someone else's job.
Work ethic: Getting people to do more for the company, without the company doing more for them.
Interview: Process for screening out introverts and people otherwise bad at doing interviews.

...Sadly, that does seem to be the case.

Oh, believe me, I wish I could've gotten a paid internship.  However, I wish I could've gotten an internship period.

My heart goes out to that dude.  I hope he's still around.  There's less and less WWII vets still living.  Sad. :(

I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

Soft tissue, hard tissue, connective tissue, tissue tissue... we're full of tissuey goodness!
Tissue... that's one of those words that look weirder and 'wronger' the longer you look at it.
