Certainly looks like it.

Because ED is such a good representation of any fandom.

Isn't ED's shtick to say absurdly offensive shit just for the sake of being absurdly offensive?  Like, they don't have standards and don't give a shit if the stuff they say crosses the line?

What a bunch of morons.  Rape jokes don't cause rape, rapists cause rape.

The basic argument is that when people laugh at rape jokes, we're telling potential rapists that it's OK to rape, that this particular form of violent assault is a joke.  So they're less likely to restrain themselves when they see an opportunity to rape someone.

That logic can be applied to a lot of things though and ultimately, I wouldn't use that as a basis for a censorship campaign.  I find the idea of censoring things to be really abhorrent and have to have a really good reason for it to happen and not be left to one person to decide what's to be censored or not.  (And make no mistake, what went on was a censorship campaign and not simple dissuasion, she actively wrote to Hasbro to have that blog taken down.)

If a woman is open about her consensual rape fantasies, is she telling potential rapists that it's ok to rape?  Do we then censor women who talk about it?

Or somewhat less related,

If people play violent shooters, are we telling people that it's ok to shoot people in real life?  Do we then ban violent video games?

I really need to stop posting so much, I'm apparently a flamewar magnet.

Nah, best we just move on, this thread isn't the best place to handle these kind of debates.

Also, is there an Equestria Girls 2 in the pipeline? time to get hype, or time to panic?

That plot summary...ugh.
If this is true, I wonder if it's some sort deal with Hasbro.  They put out these movies that are nothing but pushing their Monster High ripoff and they get to do what they want for the most part with the show without meddling.

I liked EqG ok, but if they're going to make another movie, I wish they'd make one about the actual ponies.

That's pretty much the fandom reaction right now.  For those of us that grew up with G1 and such, like myself, we're wondering where the seven movies are about FiM just having a normal plot for a 90 minute run time.

Hallelujah!  I found a link to this in a discussion about how to deal with untagged pony r34 on Tumblr.

Smell that? that's horseapples.

Or the smell of a 'special snowflake'.  Same thing.

Nothing against you, Jack.  I'm talking about the tumblrs.  It looks and smells like "We're not like everyone else in our fandom! Believe us! REALLY!"

Face it, having come from the furry fandom, it's a matter of putting yourself out there of leading by example of what not to do as part of a fan base, rather than waving a flag (metaphorically speaking) and saying that you're really not as bad as those guys on either side of you.
