6-0'd a guy with my Latias, managing to calm mind up a lot on a mismatch. Then a really good close match where I won with my Swampert. The other ones were just ragequits to my stall duo of Chansey and Ferrothorn (all of these were seperate teams, except the duo). The last quit was especially funny, as the guy said, and I quote, "Man I was trying to have fun and you bring out this shit?"

Nice dude. I used to pull shit like this back in the day. I was one of the original players early in Gen 5 who popularized dragon dance-moxie-mix-mance, and it got me so many 6-0's because people would counter him with Ferrothorn or Forretress, only to be KO'd with a flamethrower, and then the set-up for the sweep was done and I could KO the rest with either Earthquake or dragon claw. Haven't really played competitively in Gen 6.

Yeah, they had a Conkeldurr out, and switched into a non-mega Altaria (no clue why they were running it. Probably as a distraction so I'd be unprepared for Mega Alakazam), so I Calm Minded up about four times, with their Dragon Pulses doing less than 1/4 health even to begin with. Then she just swept through with her own Pulse and Psychic.

I'd like to say I'm a fan of Pokémon in that Pokémon Red was one of only two games that totally blew me out of the water with how amazing they were and sold me 100% on their respective series*, and that I regularly play the games and love them.

However, I have only played the first three generations and nothing beyond them, and am completely out of touch with Pokémon from the DS era onward, so I'm kind of out of the fandom itself.

Anyway, back in high school I was part of a challenge to start one of the Gen 1 games from scratch and build a team within a few months, then meet everyone else in a tournament. Since most of the others were people I didn't really care for and had kind of been jerks to me, I tried to not only do the best but do some really broken stuff as well just to beat them. Unfortunately, one of them scared everyone else off by playing every waking hour including during class to level everything up fast, so there weren't enough people left in the end to make things worthwhile and it got canceled.

I had the following ready to go:

*The other was The Legend of Zelda: Ocarina of Time. Really, 1998 was a great year for video games.

Gen 4 is a bit painfully slow, menus, battles, walking, text, it was so slow. Gen 5 was far better, and gen 6 was great. Except the lack of substantial postgame content.

I do wonder how that tournament would have gone, to be honest. I don't think the others were really all that up on strategy, and my team was built to exploit the unbalancing issues with Gen 1 in order to really run them down, but I don't know and have always been disappointed that it didn't happen. I really wanted to get back at those bullies with something I was actually good at.

I finally have a sword worthy of a lord!  It is beautiful, just half an inch under 3 feet of nice, sharp steel, and is exceptionally light, clocking in at (I think) around 2kg.  Like a sexy woman, its got a nice wiggle to it...and I can't stop staring at it.  Pics incoming in a bit...bitches!  AHAHAHAHAA!
