New SSD bitches!
« on: January 17, 2012, 06:23:27 am »
So, Windows 7 will not let me make an image backup to a smaller boot drive and the third party restoration tools for my Asus 335jc blow whale nuts. What is one to do?

Why, young man, simply use a generic Windows 7 iso image and use the laptop's included product key instead, like so.

Not only is my new solid state drive working like a charm, my PC is crapware free as well!

If interested, here is the drive.

Unless your computer's sata slot is SATA III, this drive currently provides the most bang for your buck.  It is still compatible with SATA III, but I would look for a drive that takes advantage of the interface if you happen to have said interface.

I want a full SSD setup, but I'm going to wait until they're common enough to be as cheap as HDDs are now. Mainly because I need WAAAAY more than 120G (more like a TB or two), and I'm not willing to shell out that much money for 'em.

This. I'm very interested in getting an SSD, but right now the price per GB is still too high. Even if I dedicated that drive to just my Steam games, they wouldn't all fit.
