Title: Wisdom Tree Apparently Still Exists
Post by: Eniliad on February 09, 2012, 04:17:39 pm
I'm just going to copy the chat log where I discovered and commented on this:

[13:08] <+Miles11> I used to actually own the Bible Adventures game.
[13:08] <+Eniliad> Why am I not surprised
[13:08] <+Miles11> Also, Wisdom Tree still makes games.
[13:09] <+Eniliad> ...I am surprised
[13:09] <+syaoranvee> The only thing I know from Dr. Who is the Angels, and even then SCP-173 did it first.
[13:09] <+Miles11> http://www.wisdomtreegames.com/arcade.html
[13:10] <+Eniliad> Shit, their site's locking up the browser
[13:10] <+Eniliad> JESUS IN SPACE???
[13:10] <+Eniliad> HAHAHA
[13:10] <+Eniliad> OMG
[13:10] <+Miles11> JESUS IN SPACE
[13:10] <+Eniliad> Okay, that made my day
[13:11] <+Eniliad> http://www.wisdomtreegames.com/games/jesusinspace/images/title.jpg Look how bored the black guy is
[13:11] <+Eniliad> Also, the boy's eyes have the style of someone who, in anime, is hypnotized or brainwashed
[13:11] <+Miles11> Aryan robot.
[13:12] <+Eniliad> Considering this is a bible-based game, that's even funnier
[13:12] <+Miles11> Aryan robot.
[13:12] <+Miles11> Bathtub rocket.
[13:12] <+Eniliad> Join Captain Paul Hammer, Lieutenant Stu Dent,
[13:12] <+Eniliad> and Shelbot the Brainy Robot
[13:12] <+Eniliad> on a "Great Commission Adventure" to teach the Gospel
[13:12] <+Eniliad> on newly discovered worlds.
[13:12] <+syaoranvee> He looks more asian.
[13:13] <+Miles11> ...Stu Dent.
[13:13] <+Miles11> Really?
[13:13] <+Eniliad> Each interactive software lesson brings you to a new planet and new aliens who need to learn the story. Lt Stu must translate the lesson into a message they can understand. And he gets plenty of help from Shelbot and Capt Paul, as well as the aliens.
[13:13] <+Eniliad> First of all "interactive software"
[13:13] <+Eniliad> Marketing much?
[13:13] <+Eniliad> Second of all...
[13:13] <+Miles11> Sounds a lot like Revver.
[13:13] <+Eniliad> "Hurry! If you don't win, all these aliens go to Hell!"
[13:13] <+Eniliad> Just my take on it
[13:13] <+Eniliad> Also, that means God's an even bigger asshole
[13:13] <+Shane_for_Wax> Okay. so magic brought the Master back
[13:14] <+Eniliad> Because that means there are alien races
[13:14] <+Eniliad> And God is judging them by his word
[13:14] <+Eniliad> But he NEVER GAVE THEM A BIBLE

My Uncle's NES collection contains three of their games, and they're all pretty much the same.

He has them mostly for nostalgia, as they were some of the only video games that he didn't have to hide from my puritanical grandmother.

Also just realized the captain who helps you out in the Jesus In Space (snicker) game is... Capt. Paul.

Oh boy.

You mean this? (http://www.cracked.com/article_15672_praystation-6-most-misguided-christian-video-games.html?wa_user1=4&wa_user2=Tech&wa_user3=article&wa_user4=recommended)

Relevant, from number 6 to 4. Also, Jesus In Space?

Sure. While we're at it why not include Jetpack Ninja Pirate Zombie Satan as his enemy?

I actually own Spiritual Warfare for the NES.

Say what you want about it being a Zelda ripoff, that game was damn fun and different enough to still be classified as a different game.

...The only downside is, you'll find yourself humming the main theme FOREVER.

We own Joshua, which my mom loved to play all the time.  I thought it was boring, and coupled with the fact that it was played constantly, I once tried to hide it when my older sister (who also played it) was looking for something else to play when she stopped playing another game.

At one point, we lent it to a relative, who lent us Exodus in return.  It was the same game.  Only with Moses instead of Joshua.

I have to agree with Zachski.  That Spiritual Warfare game isn't bad if you can tolerate the theme.  It IS pretty much a Zelda ripoff... but a halfway decent one, surprisingly, considering the source.

I turn the theme off when I play, hehe.

...You can do that? :V

I thought you could... or maybe that's just the Genesis version.  Not much of a difference between the two graphics-wise.  Even if the Gen was a stronger system.

Fundies plaguing Extraterrestrials? Sounds more like Sci-Fi Horror! Xenomorphs & that Chaos Dimension thingy in Event Horizon don't hold a candle to these dorks.

Fortuneately, the ETs will just zap 'em into the Fourth Dimension with their Positronic Ray (okay, so it's from Barbarella, sue me).

YOU CANNOT ESCAPE FROM MY POSITRONIC RAAAAAYYYYY!!!! *BWWWAAAHAHAHAAAAAAAAAAA!!!!*

I just went to their website, and it's gross. Eeeeeeeeeeeeeeeeewwwwwwwwwwwwwwwww. It requires a plugin I don't already have because nothing anywhere else needs it. Why is every Christian site ever so ugly?

Because some people really thing that sincere ernestness will do the job of competent marketing, or product value. Same reason that Christian rock and roll exists.

Christian rock and roll:

Doo doo doo doo doo he's so great
Dee dee dee dee dee Jesus too
Dum dum dum he's my mate.

The rest is way too dull to bother inventing.

Quite frankly, if you don't have a personal relationship with Satan, you don't belong in the Rock world.

Jesus loves me, I know this a bunch,
Cause he always puts Jiffy in my lunch!
