Count me in for Pathfinder.

...we may need multiple groups, given the interest.

I played 4th ed. once when it came out, and was part of a Pathfinder game that ended just the other week due to the DM's schedule changing.

No other RPG experience.

I may be able to talk my boyfriend Jay into this--he's played pretty much every tabletop RPG that exists, and has two 6-foot-high bookcases full of player's guides, including every edition of D&D except the 4th one.

I don't have the Pathfinder bestiary, just the core rulebook and advanced player's guide. So all the monsters are going to be based on 3.5 with conversions as necessary.

I've played Heroes of Neverwinter on Facebook.
I'd be more sympathetic if people here didn't act like they knew what they were saying when they were saying something very much wrong.

Well, Spoony is taken, so that's not much of an option.

Just one question: can I be a Warlock?

I'm not planning on running an evil campaign, so not if it's the "Draws power from a Demon Lord" variety.

OK, then sure. I just mentioned that because I let a guy play a warlock once and was completely surprised when he insisted that he had to be evil and the class was based around serving a demon lord. Naturally, I didn't think that goal would sit well with the rest of the party.

As I've said, I'm not familiar with all the extra splatbooks and don't have time to read them all, so don't be surprised if I ask how something works.

As an aside, and not directed at anyone on FSTDT, I've found that in every gaming group I've DM'd, there's usually been at least one guy with a laptop full of pirated PDFs who assumes I'm familiar with every sourcebook in existence and that every race/class/creature ever created exists in my campaign world somewhere.

I don't think there's a big problem with an evil character traveling with heroes if there's a good reason for it as it creates some role play opportunities.

Easily.  Just look at the Looking For Group webcomic.
There is light and darkness in the world, to be sure.  However, there's no harm to be had in walking in the shade or shadows.
