Most of my relief strategies relate to heat and cold, which you did say that you've already tried. I've never had any success with putting a hot or cold press directly on my head, but sometimes putting one on the back of the neck at the base of the skull. Somewhat predictably, ice tends to numb it, which offers immediate but temporary relief, while heat seems to make ti go away a bit faster. I've had different people tell me that one works and the other makes it worse, but which is which has changed. Both have worked for me. Unfortunately, this seems to be most effective when the pain is more toward the back and center of the head.
The other thing that often works for me is washing my face and hands in extremely hot water. I have no idea why it works, but it does, though the effects don't tend to last more than 15-30 minutes. A more intense version is a really hot shower or bath, but the effort necessary to do those things can offset the benefit.
Caffeine tends to be helpful, but if you took migraine medication, it probably had some in it, so if that didn't work, it probably isn't going to.
The best thing to do is sleep, though I know you have trouble with that. Even failing that, being online (looking at small print on a glowing screen) is one of the worst things that you can do, so if it's bad I would seek refuge in a dark room and stay away from screens.
