When I started my job I decided to make it my mission to never give anyone my phone number, so no one could call me and ask me to work for them. I have failed my mission.  I don't know how, but now they all have my phone number and I'm being roped into covering for someone on my day off.

Welcome to the work force.  What you'll begin to notice is that the bigger your plans for your day off is directly proportional to the likelihood you will get called in. Just an anecdote, I got two tickets to go a concert last night that I was looking forward to for a while. So as I'm about to hop in the shower and start getting ready to head out, bam! Phone starts going off because someone called out. I just ignored it (as in let it go to voicemail) and went to the show. They called me back another three times and it went to another three voicemails. This bothers me a lot (my thing that annoys me) because I had told them I was going to a show Saturday evening and that the tickets cost a decent amount. Like how selfish can they be? Even though I know I will catch an earful about it Monday, it was so worth it.
