I can't say this was my favorite episode, but it was good.  I was kind of hoping that Babs Seed and Applebloom would get to talk more.  Damn you, plot-powered inconvenience!

Well, I can see why.  I mean, I enjoyed it (I really enjoyed seeing Babs Seed again), but I can imagine that you found Applejack's overbearing attitude annoying.  What's more, I think you could argue that the pacing was uneven.

I'm surprised how many people seem to dislike this episode's song, I personally like it the best out of any this season!  It was also nice to get a decent Applejack episode that's actually mostly about Applejack, hopefully this will convince the community to put the "AJ never gets good episodes" meme to rest.  It was pretty cute seeing Applejack get emotional near the end, I can't even remember a time when she was that visibly upset.  Seeing all the members of the Apple family from previous episodes was great too, I love being reminded that the writers actually care about continuity.

The tune was catchy, but there have been off-the-cuff Pinkie Pie songs with more intelligent lyrics.

In the words of Apple Bloom: "... Seriously?"

Also, since the "entire Apple family" was in this episode, but Applejack's parents were not, do we take that as an indication that they're dead?
